Our first night there, Mike and I made steaks and had some wine, got licked by a skunk, and then the following morning, it snowed on us. Just a light, wet sleet mostly, nothing that hung out long enough on the ground to even count it as 'snow' really.
We hiked up to Pfeiffer Falls, a fairly easy, short hike. Easy enough for Declan at just under 2 1/2 to manage for a short distance...Although, he ended up wanting to be carried all the way back.
We then made our way up to Monterey Bay to hang out and enjoy the aquarium. It was mine and the kids' first time there. It's definitely a favorite now.
I would like this in my house, please:
We had our first experience of the Fish Hopper for dinner. I highly recommend this place, their food is excellent.
Then, we hung out a little bit in the cove below Ghiradelli's and the Fish Hopper, found some hermit crabs, got our feet wet.
Had to have some Ghiradelli's....yummmyyy...
...and went on a candy hunt.
It got a little rainy, we stayed in Sunset Inn in Pacific Grove, it was nice. The next morning, we headed up to San Francisco. Declan, unfortunately it isn't pictured, had an orange and navy blue jacket, which he refused to wear so adamantly, cried and cried about it, so we had to buy him a gray San Francisco hoodie to shield him from the rain.
Of course, the excellent clam chowder bread bowls were a must have.
Another trip to Ghiradelli's was in order, as we walked up to Ghiradelli Square and indulged once again in a tasty treat.
While we were wandering around town, the sun came out a bit here and there. I guess a little rain just adds to San Francisco's charm.
A walk all the way across the Golden Gate Bridge was a cool experience, all 8,980 feet of it and back!
