March '12 - Julian. Gotta get that apple pie!

We headed over to Julian to have a little historic small town fun. Unfortunately, we missed the snow, but that's okay.

We took a little hike, unfortunately, I can't remember the trail, but it was easy, about 2 miles. Definitely kid friendly, and ended with a nice view at the top, with an easy hike back down the mountain.

Found some animal tracks.

Then back in town, I got my pie! Our favorite is Boysenberry Apple with crumble topping! YUM!

Then we all went and got ice cream at the soda fountain.

Until next time, Julian....I will be back for more pie!

Feb '12 - Shaw's Cove, Laguna Beach

Also, not a trip, but I loved the pictures, and hey, it's a cool place at home whether it's away or not! Shaw's Cove is a gorgeous little beach in Laguna, and the tide pools rock. My sister Bethany came with this time.

Love home, always.

Feb '12 - It's not a trip, but it's Tough Mudder!

I figured, since it's totally random, I'd put it in the blog. Mike, our friends Amanda and Tyler and I all did the extreme obstacle course Tough Mudder, Vail Lake. DO IT.

Until next time, Mudder!

Feb '12 - Solo Trip to Seattle.

I had to attend a WSET conference for IOM in Seattle and took a little trip by myself. I stayed in the Renaissance Marriott in downtown. These are pictures from my visit to (OF COURSE) the little aquarium, and my 5 mi walk around downtown through Olympic Park, to the Space Needle and back. It was quite fun. Luckily, it didn't rain on me too much that day. I had drinks with some colleagues the first night at this awesome little bar called the Hideout, which really is hidden, which was a pretty cool, little place. I visited an old friend Maritza and had dinner my second and third nights.

Until next time, Seattle, and hopefully with the whole fam!
